Yo... JIMMY!

OH FOOD! Part 2!

Well after all this eating at Bar Americain yesterday, I headed over to Amanda's for Samanda night! I've just named it that because it involves me and Amanda... hence Samanda! We basically eat Illiano's buffalo chicken pizza with ranch and bake some sort of baked good afterward!

Naturally, we had Illiano's buffalo chicken pizza with ranch and we made these AMAZING white cupcakes after and they didn't even NEED frosting! OMG they were so delicious! It's because we used egg white's instead of the whole egg!

We watched The Final Destination which was... surprise! Just like all the other ones! I really liked the spin that they put on it at the end but it was still wicked tacky :) Regardless, I had that anxious feeling and that's all I look for in a scary movie! Plus, plenty of gore, which this movie had!

Obviously... it was an amazing night!!!! Always is! Next Tuesday will be a repeat, I'm sure, and we'll giggle like we're 12 through another ridiculous "3D" movie, pointing out the parts that are meant to be in 3D. We even sometimes turn it into a drinking game... a 3D part!? DRINK!

Oh FOOD!

Ok so here's my food eats from yesterday!! I ended up getting home pretty late because, obvs, it was Samanda Tuesday! Almost every Tuesday, my old roomie and I get together and do pizza and movies! It's always a super blasty blast!! Well anyway ... no breakfast because I just don't do breakfast unless it's planned or like, after 11am :)

Lunch was amazing! I had 2 grilled cheese, fries, an egg salad sandwich, 4 pieces of garlic bread, a sweet potato and mac and cheese. Although the fries were a little cold by the time I got to them, the grilled cheese made up for them! THEY WERE THE BEST GRILLED CHEESE I'VE EVER HAD! It was all delicious of course!

Well, since it was super dead, I was sent home a little early... by two hours! Our company does these things called a"Dine Around" which is where a new restaurant in the casino opens it's services to the hotel agents so that way we can taste the cuisine and be more knowledgeable about the food and restaurant itself. It was seriously entertaining! It's a restaurant called Bar Americain (pronounced Bar American) and it's one of Bobby Flay's many places. It was amazing and the Dine Around was very informative about not only the food, but the restaurant itself! Anyway... moving on!

The first appetizer course was a TOWER (literally, as you can see) of a "raw bar" which is just seafood; oysters, clams, crab legs, etc. Followed by Tuna Tar Tar (which wasn't bad but had a terrible after taste!) and followed by the Native American Taco which was friend bread with BBQ duck and cranberry red chillie in it. It was pretty delicious!

Then came the Entrees and sides! Forgive my lack of pictures... I was just overwhelmed!

As far as sides went, got 4. We ended up being spoiled with Brussels Sprouts with Hazelnuts and Pomegranates. I've never tried brussel sprouts before but they were pretty good the way they were cooked. I thought they were going to be mushy but they had a crisp to them! I don't think I'd eat them again but they were good for what they were! Our second side was Sweet Potato Gratin.... mmmmmmmm! I can't even describe how delicious this was! It pretty much melted in your mouth and was creamy but still had the consistency of a sweet potato! YUM! Our 3rd side was Cauliflower and Goat Cheese Gratin. It was good! I had a little bit and wanted more, but I'm glad I had it in moderation. Our last side was Brooklyn Hash Browns! WOWZA! So good! I couldn't get enough! I would have very happy just eating the Hash Browns and Sweet Potato Gratin all night!

Now for the Entrees!

First brought out was the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Honey, Pink Peppercorns, Lime, and a Black Pepper Biscuit. It was AMAZING! The sweet and spicy mixed together was tres magnifique!

Then came the Duck with Dirty Wild Rice, Pecans and Bourbon... DELISH! Except for the fact that the dirty wild rice was "confit" (yes, spelled correctly) which means marinated in it's own fat... uhm what?! But it was still amazing!

Next came the Porterhouse Lamb Chops with Mustard BBQ Sauce and Corn and Collard Greens Tart. It was cooked medium rare... so delicious! They were pretty awesome! Minus the fact that like, 1/3 or the lamb chop was bone... uhm, I'm pretty sure if I paid for that, I'd be very upset!

The pièce de résistance! HANGER STEAK! It was cooked rare... exactly how I like it! It was SO flavorful and it was served with this special steak sauce. It was almost sweet and spicy at the same time. It brought out the flavor in the steak, oh so much! It was also served with a side of onion... but the onion was like, a blossom almost and there was an onion spread in the middle of the blossom for the steak. It was great, however, I couldn't eat it with every bite.

Then there were the seafood dishes... ew. I didn't try either of them because I just couldn't handle it! Hahaha! But the dishes, if you were into seafood, were good! There was Florida Style Red Snapper and Fulton Fish Market Cioppino with Sour Dough Toast.

So finally! Came dessert! WOWWWW! These desserts were some of the best desserts I've ever tasted. I'll save the best for last!

First there was the German's Chocolate Cake. It's a chocolate cake made with a guy named German's chocolate! NOT German, as in chocolate from Germany, Chocolate cake! It had this Coconut Whipped Cream on it and it was pretty decadent but not really as chocolaty as I was hoping!

Next, there was a Granny Smith Apple Tart with HOMEMADE Maple Walnut Ice Cream! I'm not a huge fan of apple pie or cooked, mushy fruits, but this was pretty good! They make all their ice cream on site so for it being made right there... it was the best ice cream I've ever had!

Then there was a Pistachio Creme Brulee. I put a little tiny bit on my plate because it looked disgusting! It had a brown top to it (the brulee part) and it was green (the pistachio part). I'm not a fan of pistachio but this was SO GOOD! I definitely wanted more after my little bite! Alas, it had all been eaten.

After that, there was the Bourbon Praline Profiterole with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. This was my second favorite dessert! It was like fried ice cream wrapped around regular ice cream but was so exquisite!

LASTLY! There was the Sweet Potato Pie! OH MY GOSH! It was this beautiful little pie with a homemade graham cracker crust and homemade cinnamon ice cream! Wow! It was SO DELICIOUS! I never would have ordered it off of the menu only because Sweet Potato Pie does not sound that good. I'd figured it'd be more of a dinner side. But I cannot wait to go back and get another one!

All of this food was absolutely amazing! There was nothing bland about it! The only things I didn't like about this Dine Around were that I had to share! The portions didn't really seem big enough for 12 people. Ah, but who are we talking about here? Everyone else left full... I just have a humongo stomach. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my guests and even friends! Of course, my friends would for sure have to save a pretty penny because everything was pretty pricey.

I did continue on to eat that night but that's going to be the second post of the afternoon!

yummmmmyyyyy!!!

Ok so I forgot about picture taking in my haste to eat today, but I do have a list! YAY LISTS! And for those who don't read facebook status updates, I definitely left my work shoes at home and was super frustrated! So lunch couldn't come fast enough because eating is what I want most when I'm upset, happy, sad.... etc!

For Lunch:
-turkey
-stuffing
-egg salad sandwich
-sweet potato fries
-beef stew (delish by the way)
-cheesecake
-chocolate mousse

it was AMAZING! Of course, I had more turkey and HOMEMADE stuffing for dinner haha and it was so much better than The Grill! Not that I'm knocking The Grill, but you just can't beat homemade! Moving on...

I need to try this... a deep fried cupcake! YES PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!

OMFG YES!

If you look closely, you'll notice that these ice cream cones are not normal... they're cake icing (looks like funfetti) cones! I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT

Dinner?

Well, my mom made pasta tonight for dinner, and I'm really not a fan of pasta. However, she made vodka sauce to go with it! YUMMY! So rof course, I ate it with gusto. BUT my dad and sister were kind of on this no carb kick thing... ugh. AND they eat like birds. So my mom only made like, 3 servings of pasta. I ate this bowl and then made myself two more servings. YES! She just says, "wow, you obviously don't eat home enough." And I asked her what she meant, and she just goes, "I forget that you don't eat like your father or sister... you're much more hearty." Was she calling me fat? Hahaha!

Yea and I know everyone loves the zebra place-mat and the sparkle napkin ring.... super classy set up. Thanks mom.

Jenna-rator!

Today was actually a pretty lazy day. I spent it eating food.... of course! This morning I had a fried egg sandwich on a plain bagel. Ingredients from bottom to top:
-bottom bagel half
-mayo
-american cheese
-fried egg
-5 slices of bacon
-american cheese
-mayo
-bagel top
It was all delicious! I then washed that down with a blueberry muffin toasted with butter... yummmm!!!!

Jimmy and I then had a 4 year old's birthday party to get to, well, she claims she's still three and a half until tomorrow. Jenna is probably one of the funniest, cutest kids I know. She calls Jim's dad (aka Porky)  "Porkarator" because Big Jim calls her "Jennarator" haha! GET IT?! So we got there around 2ish to watch the HORRIBLE football game. But whatever! Anyway, after 2 slices of sausage pizza, 3 slices of cheese pizza, a fruit cup, croutons, cake and ice cream, REAL potato chips, a mini donut, another slice of cake, and a half of a skinny cow (gotta watch my figure), it was time for Jimmy and to leave so he could get back to NY. It was nice because he had to drive me home and that gave us a little extra time together. I can't wait to get back down to NY because I miss my friends and the boy of course. Hmm... dinner happening soon :)

Catch up with Ketchup!

So it's been a while since I blogged about food stuffs! WEIRD seeing as I'm always eating! Well... before we get into it... I definitely want everyone to watch CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS!!!! It's prrrrrrrrrobably one of the better animation movies I've ever seen! I absolutely adored it, and it was HILARIOUS! Just saying!

Ok so far this week... we'll get into it.

So my dad and I went for Subway at some point this week because I needed cheering up and OBVS food is the way to make me happier. Especially when I don't have to pay for it!

So, above is a typical lunch from The Grill.. AKA the dining hall thing at Mohegan Sun where I get a paid lunch break and all the food you can fit on your tray! The other day they had fried chicken! A SERIOUS TREAT! It was SOOO good too! Surprisingly! However, 45 minutes is not enough time to down all this food leisurely like.

Fried chicken.... OWNED!!!!!

Amanda Shinaniganizer ...

DESSERT!!!!

Amanda Night!

So after BK I made it to Amanda's for pizza! Buffalo chicken to be exact! We had our pizza (4 slices for me and 2 for amanda) and ranch and then we made brownies :) Brownie pics to come ... When they're done baking.

Round 1

So I got out of work a little early and, obvs, was a little hungry! I'm hangin with my girl Amanda tonight, which has been a MUST for too long! Anyway, while she was visiting family, I had nothing to do so BK was the obvious decision! Pre hangs eats! Then we're grabbin pizza later :)

this is what lunch was

So I started off with everything I had on my previous List, however, I added a sweet potato, and I had a salad with thousand island dressing instead of blue cheese! Dessert was a Pink Swirl cheese cake! You can see that my plates are all stacked as to make room at the table for my co-workers so I apologize for the poor lay-out. See start to finish!!!

Menu!?

Ok so I've looked at the menu for today and I've decided on lunch. I usually don't eat breakfast so lunch is where I usually get serious about eating. As of right now, lunch will consist of:

-Salad with Blue Cheese dressing
-Beef Chow Fun
-Montreal Chicken
-Kielbasa
-Rosemary and Blue Cheese Potatoes
-Roast Beef
-DESSERT TBD

This is all subject to change depending on how everything looks cooked. I don't even know when my lunch break is going to happen, but hopefully soon. I'm starving ... obvs.

Back to food.

Yea, so it's about 1:30am and I saw a commercial for THIS!!!! I must have one ASAP!!! I could probably eat Taco Bell at least 3 times per week ...

Nothing to do with food but ...

This has NOTHING to do with food, but this is totally my new desktop background. Two of my favorite things combined :)

The BEGINNING!!!!

So here it is! The beginning of a new blogging era! Well, for me at least. I had a blog but I just never found anything interesting to fill it with. My life is boring, what can I say! I'll probably have random life tid-bits in here, but mostly this is just about everything I eat in a day! Mind you... I'm roughly 115 pounds and 5'1 so I'm sure someone will be amused! I someday aspire to have a spin off of ManVsFood.... WomanVsFood! Or even be ON ManVsFood with Adam Richman! I'd be so good at that job! We'll see :) Ps. This is what I'm eating right now....
